Baby Chicken Hatchlings Peeking Out of Cracked Eggshells

Coloring guide
Three round, fluffy chicks peek out of cracked eggshells. Each one has a little tuft of feathers on top, big shiny eyes, a small open beak and tiny wings gripping the jagged shell edge. One chick sits at the top and two more sit lower left and right. A whole egg with a zigzag crack across it sits in the center of the nest, so a fourth hatchling might be coming. The eggs rest in loose, overlapping straw drawn with thick, clean outlines. Big open areas on the chicks' bodies are simple for small hands, and the straw gives older kids some detail to chew on. Soft yellow suits the chicks, orange the beaks, and a mix of browns and golds the nest. Print it free for a fun afternoon activity. Add this to your Chicken coloring page collection, alongside Owl and Dinosaurs.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color all three chicks' bodies, wings and little hands bright yellow, keeping the eye whites and shiny highlights white.
- 2Fill the cracked eggshell pieces around the chicks and the back shell with pale cream.
- 3Color the big cracked egg in the middle soft blue.
- 4Fill the whole nest with straw brown, working around the egg and the shells.
- 5Color the three beaks orange so they stand out against the yellow.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker yellow along the edges of the chicks and a little extra cream shading inside the shells for depth.
