Savanna Pals Gathered Around a Tall Giraffe
Coloring guide
In the middle of this savanna scene a tall giraffe smiles down on three young friends clustered around its legs. A striped zebra sits on the left with a happy grin, a round-eared baby elephant sits on the right with its trunk curled up, and a little lion cub with a tufted tail sits out front. Behind them are flat-topped acacia trees, grassy tufts, rocks and distant hills, all leading toward a big round sun. Small birds fly across a sky with fluffy clouds. The giraffe's patchwork spots and the zebra's stripes give kids plenty of shapes to fill, and the grass blades are good for practicing small strokes. Golden yellow and warm orange work on the giraffe and lion cub, with soft gray for the elephant. Print or download it free for kids and coloring fans of any age. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: fill the grass and bushes with yellow green and lime green, and the distant hills with periwinkle blue.
- 2Color the pond with bright blue and the clouds with pale sky blue, leaving the sky and the zebra's stripes white.
- 3Fill the giraffe's body and the lion with golden yellow, then add burnt orange spots across the giraffe's neck and body.
- 4Color the elephant with light gray and its ears with coral pink, then add the sunny yellow sun and the forest green tree tops.
- 5Add the trunks in tree bark brown, the lion's tail in dark brown, and the giraffe's muzzle in pale yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading under the elephant and giraffe with a slightly darker tone of the same color for extra depth.
