Little Giraffe Standing in a Flower Patch
Coloring guide
Right in the middle of the page, a smiling baby giraffe stands tall and looks out with big bright eyes and a friendly grin. Large rounded spots run down its long neck, which makes them easy for small hands to fill. It has two little knobbed horns, floppy ears, a tiny tuft of hair on its head and a tufted tail curling out behind. Four simple flowers with round petals and pointed leaves sit around the giraffe, and a few grass tufts are near its hooves. Bold outlines and roomy shapes work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Brown spots on a golden yellow body look good, and the flower petals could be pink or purple. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the giraffe's whole body, neck, and head with golden yellow, leaving the muzzle and the gaps between the legs white.
- 2Color the muzzle and the tiny patch on the nose with cream, then add the ear in blush pink.
- 3Fill the large brown spots along the neck, back, belly, and legs with caramel brown, and color the tail tuft and the hooves dark brown.
- 4Add the flowers: petals in bright pink, sky blue, lilac purple, and marigold, and keep the flower leaves and the flower centers white.
- 5Optional: Add a little burnt orange shading along the edges of the brown spots and the mane to make the giraffe look extra cheerful.
