Rainbow Over Two Giraffes on a Grassy Hill

One tall giraffe and one smaller giraffe stand together on a grassy hill, both looking up at a large rainbow that arches across the sky. They have long necks with rounded, patchy spots, little horn-like ossicones, big ears, tufted tails and gentle smiles. Flat-topped acacia trees sit on rolling hills behind them, and puffy outlined clouds drift around the rainbow. Leafy bushes and small grass tufts fill the front of the page. The rainbow's wide, separate bands are simple to color, and the big spots on the giraffes suit little hands and chunky crayons. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: color the outer stripe red, the next stripe yellow, then green, and the inner stripe blue.
- 2Color the clouds sky blue and leave the sky background white.
- 3Fill both giraffes with golden yellow, and color the tall giraffe ear honey yellow while the small giraffe ear is coral pink.
- 4Add the brown spots in light brown and copper brown, then darken the hooves and tail tips with dark brown.
- 5Color the hills and trees with meadow green and lime green, then add forest green to the bushes, tree tops and grass tufts, with dark green for the shadowed bush on the left.
- 6Optional: leave the eyes and a few small highlights white so the giraffes look bright and friendly.
