Baby Lizard Peeking Out of a Cracked Egg

Coloring guide
A baby lizard pops out of a cracked egg with big shiny eyes and an open, happy mouth. Its little hands rest on the jagged edge of the shell, and a few oval spots dot its head and neck. Zigzag cracks run down the front of the egg. The egg sits in a mound of sand sprinkled with tiny specks, with two smooth rocks up front and a small two-armed cactus standing on the left. Bold, clean outlines and large open areas make it easy for younger kids using crayons or chunky markers. Soft greens suit the lizard, sandy yellows work for the ground, and a speckled pale blue gives the shell some character. This free printable PDF is great for class time or a rainy day. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big egg shape with pale sky blue, leaving the cracks and the white shine spots untouched.
- 2Color the baby lizard's head, arms, shoulders and the cactus in grass green, keeping the eye whites clean.
- 3Paint the two rocks at the bottom in light gray, then add the tongue in coral pink.
- 4Add golden yellow to the three small spots on top of the head and the spot on the shoulder.
- 5Optional: Leave the sand and the eye shine highlights white so the picture stays bright and light.
