A smiling baby monkey sits with its feet out front, hugging a big woven basket heaped with fruit. Look closely and you'll find a bunch of bananas, two pineapples with crisscross diamond skin and spiky leaves, and a couple of rounded, leafy fruits that could be mangoes or peaches. The monkey has big round eyes, a tuft of hair on top, large ears and a curled tail on the left. Large leaves sit behind it, and palm fronds hang in both top corners. The basket's rope rim and woven pattern give kids small spaces for careful coloring. Bright yellow bananas, golden orange pineapples and warm brown fur are an easy palette. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole basket with caramel tan, following the woven pattern and leaving the rim lines unfilled if you like.
- 2Fill the monkey's face, hands, and feet with peach skin, and the chest with light apricot.
- 3Color the head fur, both ears, shoulders, arms, legs, and curly tail with chocolate brown.
- 4Paint the bananas with lemon yellow, the two red apples with cherry red, the orange with tangerine orange, and the pineapples with amber gold.
- 5Fill the palm leaves and the big leaves behind the monkey with bright green and leaf green, then color the open mouth soft pink.
- 6Optional: Leave the eye whites, the background gaps, and the inside of the tail curl white to make the highlights pop.
