In a tall chef's hat and a scalloped apron, a cheerful little penguin rolls out cookie dough with a rolling pin. A star and a heart are already cut into the dough. Behind the penguin you'll spot an oven with a tray inside and three round knobs, plus a small wall shelf holding a heart-decorated utensil holder and two jars. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big dark areas: color the penguin's hood, wings and arms navy blue, leaving the face and belly area light for now.
- 2Fill the chef hat with cream white, then color its band and the apron, bow and stove with sky blue, keeping the lace trim on the apron white.
- 3Color the rolling dough sheet and the cookies on the tray golden yellow, then shade the rolling pin and cookie cutters with caramel tan and the orange handle.
- 4Add the kitchen items: make the stove soft blue with navy oven window, the mixing bowl turquoise with a white rim, the jars dark red and the shelf wheat beige.
- 5Use sunny yellow for the beak and coral pink for the tongue, and leave the eye whites and the small face highlight white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the penguin's hood and the cookie edges to make the drawing pop.
