Baobab Tree Savanna with Smiling Lion Lying in the Grass
Coloring guide
A friendly lion with a big fluffy mane is lying on the grass and smiling right at you. His front paws are stretched out and his tail is curled around beside him. A huge baobab tree rises behind him, with a thick trunk and wide, cloud-like branches full of leaves. In the upper right there's a round sun with rays, and in the distance you'll spot rolling hills and two small flat-topped acacia trees. Grass tufts are scattered around the lion and in the corners. Young children will like the bold outlines and roomy open spaces, while older kids can take their time on the mane and the tree bark. Golden yellow and warm orange suit the body, deep brown works for the mane and tail tuft, and the sun can be a sunny yellow. A handy free printable for a savanna or animal-themed lesson. - 2Fill the mane and lower mane with rust brown, and add caramel brown on the lion's nose and ears.
- 3Color the tree canopy with leaf green, and add forest green in the shaded parts under the leaves.
- 4Color the sun with lemon yellow and the hills with sky blue, then add light sky blue for the sky patches.
- 5Use caramel brown for the tree branches and sand beige for the thinner twigs.
- 6Leave the tree trunk white and add a few light pencil lines for texture. Optional: add a little olive green to the grass and small plants.
