Long Side Braid Portrait of Barbie
Coloring guide
This head-and-shoulders portrait shows a smiling Barbie glancing back over her shoulder, with big round eyes, long lashes and a friendly closed-mouth smile. Her long hair sweeps across her forehead and falls over one side into a thick, chunky braid tied with a dark hair band, and the loose end flares out at the bottom left. A tiny braid with a leaf-like detail sits above her ear, and the Barbie logo is written in the top left corner. No background here, so all the attention goes to the hair and its many flowing sections. Warm golden blonde or rich chestnut brown would look great, with a slightly darker shade in the braid's folds to make it stand out. Save it as a free PDF for a quick coloring break any time. Fans of Barbie coloring pages often like Dog Man and Puppy Dog Pals as well.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- pale lemon
- soft peach
- sunny yellow
- light cream yellow
- hot pink
- golden yellow
- dusty rose
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the face, ears, and neck with soft peach, leaving the eye whites and the background white.
- 2Color the wide hair strands, the top swoop, and the bangs with pale lemon, leaving a few thin white highlight lines.
- 3Fill the darker hair bands, the ponytail edges, and the sides of the braid with sunny yellow to add depth.
- 4Color the braid's inner curls and the lightest strands with light cream yellow for a soft glow.
- 5Add hot pink to the lips and the top, and use dusty rose for the small hair ribbon and golden yellow for the hair clips and tie.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra sunny yellow along the edges of the braid and ponytail to deepen the shading.
