Beach Day Unicorn Trotting Past a Sandcastle
Coloring guide
A cheerful unicorn with big sparkly eyes and a long wavy mane trots along the shoreline, one front hoof lifted mid-step and the flowing tail curling behind. The spiral horn and pointed ears add plenty to color. Out past it, gentle waves roll over the sea, a small sailboat floats near the horizon and three seagulls glide overhead. Up front in the sand are a scallop shell, a dotted starfish and a little sandcastle with a tower, an arched door and a tiny flag. The shapes are large and clear, so this free printable works for preschoolers and early elementary kids alike. A pastel rainbow mix on the mane and tail, a pink and lilac swirl on the horn, and sandy yellow and turquoise for the beach would all look great. Love this Unicorns coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the ocean and water: color the sea and waves on both sides of the horizon with sky blue, leaving the thin wave lines and the white sailboat alone.
- 2Fill the flowing mane and tail with lavender, lemon yellow, turquoise and hot pink in long stripes, following the curves of the hair.
- 3Color the unicorn's horn with bands of baby pink, lavender, turquoise and lemon yellow, then add the hooves and the shell in hot pink and baby pink.
- 4Paint the sandcastle and its flag in light tan and honey yellow, and color the starfish orange and the sand near the shore in light tan.
- 5Leave the horse's body, face, eyes and the seagulls white, then add the small orange and light orange touches on the starfish and mane for a finishing pop of color.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade of the same colors along one side of the mane and tail to make the hair look fuller.
