A tall mother unicorn lowers her head to touch noses with her little foal, who looks up at her with a happy smile. Both have spiral horns, big shiny eyes and long wavy manes, and the mother's flowing tail curls along the left side of the page. A big bushy tree with a cloud-like leafy top stands behind them, and the ground is dotted with grass tufts and a few simple flowers with round centers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the tree trunk in warm brown and the leafy canopy and grass patches in grass green.
- 2Color the long wavy mane and tail of the big mama unicorn with butter yellow, sky blue, lavender purple and rose pink, alternating the colors in soft bands.
- 3Fill the horns with butter yellow and color the foal's mane and tail with sky blue, lavender purple, orchid pink and rose pink.
- 4Color all the hooves in lavender purple, the flower petals in rose pink and lavender purple, and the inside of the foal's ear in blush pink.
- 5Leave the unicorns' bodies, eye whites, muzzles and flower centers white so they stay bright. Optional: add a little soft peach shading where the foal's forelock meets its horn.
