Snowy Forest Ride with a Lantern, Beauty and the Beast Coloring Page
Coloring guide
A kind man with a beard, wearing a cozy cap, a long coat and a scarf, rides a big-eyed horse along a snowy forest path. One hand holds up a lit lantern and the other keeps hold of the reins. The horse walks straight toward you with a friendly face, a bridle, a chest strap and a flowing mane and tail. Evergreen trees heavy with snow fill both sides of the page, and little snowy mounds, bare twigs and footprints dot the trail. There's a good mix of large open areas and finer details, so it works for kids who like bold coloring and for those who prefer careful patterns. A warm yellow and orange glow on the lantern flame looks lovely against cool blues and soft purples in the snow, and chestnut brown on the horse helps the rider stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pine trees and bushes: fill them with medium green and forest green, leaving the snowy gaps between branches white.
- 2Color the horse's body, head, and neck warm orange, then add a bit of caramel brown on the harness details.
- 3Use reddish brown for the rider's long coat and sleeves, and brick red for his hat and the wide scarf.
- 4Paint the horse's mane, tail, and the fur collar of the coat with pale gold, and fill the snowy hills with lime green and grass green.
- 5Finish with dark brown on the boots, stirrups, and hooves, charcoal gray on the lantern, and light gray on the rocks; keep the beard and background snow white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of reddish brown along the horse's legs and the coat folds to give them a little shading.
