Enchanted Rose in a Glass Dome, Beauty and the Beast

One rose in full bloom stands on a leafy stem inside a tall glass dome, which has a round knob on top and a little shine mark on the glass. Two leaves branch off the stem and three loose petals rest on the base below. Small four-pointed sparkles drift around the flower. The dome sits on a round table with curved, scrolled legs, and a pair of gathered curtains frames each side. This is the enchanted rose from the story, so fans will know it right away. Big petals and open spaces are easy for younger kids, and the swirled center gives older ones something to work on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the glass dome interior and the background sparkles in pale sky blue, leaving the glass highlight streaks and sparkle centers white.
- 2Color both curtains and their tiebacks in deep red, then fill the wooden table top, band, and legs in warm brown.
- 3Fill the dome knob, its collar, and the ring at the base of the dome in golden yellow, and color the water in the dish royal blue.
- 4Color the rose petals and fallen petals in rose red, using deep red for the darker inner petals and leaving small highlights white.
- 5Add the stem in bright green and the leaves and sepals in forest green.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the curtain folds and the lower petals for depth.
