Big Firework Burst and Stars for 4th of July

Coloring guide
This page is one big firework going off. A star sits at the center, and long rounded streaks fan out in every direction like glowing sparks. There's a short little dash right at the top, and the streaks get longer and curvier as they drop down the bottom half. Ten outlined stars, some large and some tiny, are scattered around the burst, so there's lots to color. Thick, clean lines and roomy shapes make it easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids, while older children can fill each streak with patterns. Red, white and blue streaks look great with a bright yellow center star and yellow stars around it. It's free to print, so make a few extra copies. Looking for more? - royal blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big firework rays: color each one in sections, switching between bright red, royal blue and golden yellow as in the example.
- 2Fill the large center, top and bottom stars with golden yellow, then color the left and right stars in bright red or royal blue.
- 3Color the small stars scattered around the edges, mixing royal blue, golden yellow and a few bright red ones.
- 4Leave the thin spark line above the center and the background white so the burst pops off the page.
- 5Optional: add light shading along one side of each ray with a slightly darker shade of its color to add depth.
