Big Pointed North Star With Shine Lines

Coloring guide
A large star with long, sharp points sits in the middle of the page, drawn with a double outline so each point has a thin stripe running through it. Count the points and you will find eight, with the longest one stretching down toward the bottom. Eight short straight lines are scattered around the star like beams of light, and the words NORTH STAR appear at the bottom in bubble letters decorated with tiny sparkles. The double outline makes this a nice one for practicing shading. Try coloring the inner stripe in a light yellow and the outer band in a deeper gold, then leave the center bright. It also works well for a lesson on the night sky or the story of the North Star, and kids can use the shine lines to show how far the light travels. You can print as many copies as you need for a group.
