Little Boy in Star Pajamas at the Window
Coloring guide
Standing at an open window with his back to us, a little boy in button-up pajamas covered in stars turns his head to smile up at the night sky. One hand rests on the windowsill. Outside, a large eight-pointed star shines in the top right, with smaller twinkling stars around it and soft, puffy clouds or bushes along the bottom edge. Long curtains with tie-backs frame both sides of the window, and the boy's feet are on a wooden plank floor. The mood is calm and dreamy, perfect for bedtime or wish-making themes. There's plenty of open space here for little hands. Bright sunny yellow or sky blue would suit the pajamas, and a glowing gold will make the big star the center of attention. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the wall below the window in cream, the windowsill and window frames in warm brown, and the floor planks in caramel.
- 2Fill both curtains and their tiebacks with light blue, leaving the folds visible between the shapes.
- 3Color the window glass in royal blue and navy blue, then add forest green and leaf green to the bushes outside the window.
- 4Paint the boy's hair warm brown, his face, ears and hand peach beige, and his pajama shirt, pants and sleeves sky blue, leaving the small white stars on the pajamas unfilled.
- 5Make the big star in the sky golden yellow, and leave the small sparkles and the night sky background white.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker blue along the pajama folds and under the sleeves for a bit of depth.
