Here's a giant Godzilla standing tall and letting out a huge roar, with rows of sharp teeth and one fierce, angry eye. His scaly skin has plenty of texture, there's a banded belly down the middle, big claws on both hands, and jagged plates along his spine. The long curved tail swings up on the left side of the page. At his feet you'll find a skyline of tall skyscrapers and smaller buildings, each with lots of tiny windows, and three puffy outline clouds drift overhead. The lines are bold and clear, which works well for kids who enjoy detail. Deep forest green looks great on the scales, bright orange suits the back plates, and the windows can be any mix of colors you like. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big body, head, arms, legs and tail of the monster with leafy green, using short curved strokes to suggest scales.
- 2Fill the belly bands and the tummy area with pale yellow, leaving thin dark lines between the bands.
- 3Color the back spikes and the spikes on the tail with sky blue, and add the small gaps near the tail in white.
- 4Color the open mouth with bright red and the tongue with brick red, keeping the teeth and eye whites white.
- 5Fill the clouds with pale sky blue and the buildings with light gray, steel blue and golden yellow tops, leaving windows white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker green in the shadowed sides of the body for depth.
