Botasaur is a robotic T. rex built out of mechanical parts, and he stands tall right in the middle of the page. His two big round eyes sit on bendy stalks, his wide mouth is open with a row of jagged teeth, and he rolls on chunky monster-truck tires. One tire is on each side of his head and another is on his body. He holds one arm up in the air, and his jointed legs and blocky feet keep him planted on the ground. His name is spelled in big bubble letters at the top, and a rounded frame goes around everything. Kids who love Rusty Rivets will have fun filling in all the gears, bolts and tire treads. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green head shell using lime green, leaving the small eye-like spot and the side marking for later.
- 2Fill the lower jaw and the claws with bright red, and use dark red for the shadowed part of the jaw.
- 3Color the main body parts in sky blue: the shoulders, back panels and both feet, keeping the gaps between the legs white.
- 4Add the orange back leg, raised arm and lower legs, then fill the golden yellow feet and the lemon yellow raised hand.
- 5Color the tires and tread in charcoal gray, the hubs in warm brown and mustard yellow, and the title letters in lemon yellow, leaving the inside of the O white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the gaps of the tires and under the head to make the robot look more solid.
