Kids Decorating a Gingerbread House Together in the Kitchen

Coloring guide
In a kitchen, a smiling boy and girl stand side by side, each pressing a gumdrop onto the roof of a gingerbread house. The house sits on a rectangular tray and is covered with dotted icing, scalloped frosting edges and rows of gumdrops along the roofline. A swirled peppermint candy sits above the arched door, which is outlined with candy beads, and there are two four-pane windows. A bowl of extra gumdrops waits on the left in front, and a piping bag rests on the counter at the right. Behind them are a window, a cabinet and a jar of kitchen utensils. Both kids wear aprons, and the girl has pigtails. Bright red and green gumdrops look nice against brown gingerbread walls, and you can leave the white icing blank for a snowy feel. The printable is free with no sign-up. This fits right in with our Gingerbread House coloring pages — see also Thanksgiving and New Year.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: fill the walls and cabinet with cream, the lower kitchen wall with sage green, and the wooden table with caramel brown.
- 2Color the skin on the boy and girl with peach skin, then fill the boy's hair with chestnut brown and the girl's hair with golden yellow.
- 3Add the clothes: the boy's sleeves and shirt in bright blue, and the girl's top and sleeves in coral red. Leave the aprons white.
- 4Fill the gingerbread house walls and roof with caramel brown, then color the bowl light blue and the candy pieces in grass green, orange, and violet purple.
- 5Finish the details: color the cabinet and window sky, the utensil cup in light blue, and the bush in lime green. Leave the icing, piping bag, and window frames white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the table and house walls to make the gingerbread look extra cozy.
