Boy and Girl Skating Hand in Hand on a Frozen Pond
Coloring guide
Two smiling kids glide over the ice holding hands, with their free arms out for balance and their scarves trailing behind. The boy wears a pom-pom beanie, a puffy zip-up jacket, mittens and lace-up skates. The girl has on a zigzag-patterned pom-pom hat, a buttoned coat with a fur-trimmed collar, a striped scarf and skates with fuzzy cuffs. Curved lines on the ice show their path, and snowy pine trees and a distant tree line fill the background. Shapes are large and outlines are clear, so kids who like some detail won't run into tiny spaces. Red and blue hats and scarves will help the skaters stand out against pale blue ice and deep green pines. It's a free printable. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the boy's puffy jacket and hat in bright blue, and the boy's pants and gloves in deep blue, leaving small white highlights on the hat and jacket.
- 2Fill the girl's coat, hat, mittens, and scarf in hot pink, using light pink for the hat band and blush pink for the scarf stripes and coat pockets.
- 3Paint the pond behind the kids and the boy's scarf in pale blue, and color the boy's hair brown.
- 4Use cream for the girl's fur collar, boot cuffs and skate tops, and gray for the boy's skate boots, keeping the skate blades and laces white.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker shading in the folds of the jacket and coat to make them look puffy.
- 6Leave the trees, snow, and ice white, and finish by adding small details such as the eyes, pompoms, and buttons.
