Fishing Off the Dock, Anime Style Boy with Jumping Fish
Coloring guide
Sitting at the edge of a wooden dock in a wide-brim bucket hat, a smiling boy holds a fishing rod in both hands while his sneakers dangle over the water. He has a utility vest over a t-shirt and cargo shorts with big pockets. A pail rests on the planks beside him, and two fish jump out of the lake with small splashes. A little rowboat floats on the calm water behind him, with cattails along the shore, rolling hills and puffy clouds above. His fishing line runs down into a ripple on the surface. Kids who love the outdoors will like this one, and the free printable PDF leaves lots of room for crayons or markers. Olive green for the vest and bright orange for the leaping fish will stand out against a blue lake. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the lake and sky: fill the water and wavy ripples in bright blue, and the clouds in pale blue, leaving the small white splash highlights untouched.
- 2Paint the shoreline bushes and the left bush in leaf green, then color the reeds in bright green.
- 3Color the dock boards and posts in wood brown, the bucket in orange, and the jumping fish bodies in cream yellow with a lime green back on the top fish.
- 4Use khaki tan for the shorts and hat brim, straw yellow for the hat top, olive green for the vest and hat band, and dark brown for the hair. Color the face and hands light peach and the open mouth coral pink.
- 5Add royal blue to the sneakers, keeping the socks, shirt and laces white, and leave the eye whites white. Color the rowboat in wood brown and the reel in dark gray.
- 6Optional: add a little light gray shading to the shirt folds and a darker shade of wood brown along the dock edges for depth.
