A smiling boy runs through the air while holding the kite string in one raised fist, with his other arm swung back and his legs kicked up mid stride. He wears a long sleeve shirt with a letter D on the front, pants, and sneakers with dotted details. Above him is a diamond shaped kite with a bow in the center, ribbon tails at the top and bottom, and a long wavy string tied with lots of little bows. Around the page, small leaves, three big maple leaves, and puffy cloud shapes fill the open space. Try coloring the maple leaves in reds, oranges, and yellows, then give each bow on the kite string a different color so kids can practice patterns. The large shapes are easy for younger kids, and the bows and leaf veins give older kids some detail work.
