Rail Grinding Skateboarding Scene at the Skatepark

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• light gray
• grass green
• steel gray
• sandy tan
• denim blue
• sky blue
• cherry red
• charcoal gray
• butter yellow
• wood brown
• pale beige
• pale blue

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the big areas: color the pavement and ground in light gray, and the skate ramp in sandy tan.
2. 2Color the trees, bushes and hedges in grass green, and the boy's shirt in sky blue.
3. 3Fill the pants with denim blue and the skateboard top with charcoal gray, leaving the bottom of the deck and the shoe laces white.
4. 4Color the metal grind rail, its posts and the stairs in steel gray, and the bottom of the skateboard in wood brown.
5. 5Use cherry red for the helmet and the wheels, and muted brown for the shoe on the left.
6. 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the skateboard, the rail and the pants folds to make the drawing pop. Leave the clouds and the background sky white.
