Diversity & Inclusion Park Walk: Boy in Wheelchair and His Friend
Coloring guide
A boy in a hooded sweatshirt smiles from his wheelchair while a girl with a long ponytail strolls next to him on a garden path, grinning his way. She's dressed in a long-sleeved top, pants and sneakers, with a backpack she holds by one strap. The park around them has a big leafy tree, rounded bushes, grass tufts and small flowers, plus extra blooms tucked into the bottom corners. The wheelchair's large spoked wheels are fun to color carefully. It's a free printable that fits well with classroom talks about friendship and kindness. Yellow or orange would look great on the hoodie, with soft greens for the tree and bushes and pink and purple for the flowers by the path. Love this Diversity & Inclusion coloring page? A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- grass green
- light green
- bright blue
- chestnut brown
- rose pink
- peach
- lilac
- light blue
- light gray
- dark gray
- forest green
- violet
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big greens: fill the tree canopy, the bushes and the lawn with grass green, then add light green to the grassy patches on the left, right and bottom.
- 2Color the boy's hoodie bright blue, with slate blue on the sleeve shadows, and his jeans and sneakers in light blue.
- 3Paint the girl's shirt rose pink, her pants lilac and her backpack violet, then add chestnut brown to her ponytail and hair.
- 4Fill the faces, necks and hands with peach, and give both kids chestnut brown hair. Leave the eye whites, teeth and small hair highlights white.
- 5Color the wheelchair frame and wheels with light gray and dark gray, add medium gray to the wheel hubs, and leave the footrests white. Finish the bottom-left flowers in cream.
- 6Optional: Add a darker shade of each color along one side of the hoodie, pants and tree to give the drawing a little depth.
