Boy Playing a Flute to a Cobra in a Basket
Coloring guide
A smiling cobra comes up out of a woven basket, hood spread wide and tongue flicking, while a young boy plays a small flute next to it. He sits cross-legged on a rectangular rug with fringed ends and wears a wrapped turban with a loose long-sleeved top and trousers. Music notes, twinkling stars and big swirly curls drift through the air, and small grass tufts sit at the edges. The basket has a brick-like weave and a twisted rope rim, so there is lots of texture to color. A green cobra with a yellow belly looks good, with purples and golds for the swirls and stars. - 1Color the snake's head and the green coil inside the basket with leaf green, and use forest green for the basket's inner rim.
- 2Fill the snake's hood and the stripes along its body with golden yellow, and use pale yellow for the rest of the body, leaving the eye whites white.
- 3Color the basket with wood brown, then add caramel brown to the darker bricks for depth.
- 4Fill the rug with bright red and its border with golden yellow, then color the boy's pants sky blue and his shirt cream white.
- 5Color the boy's turban orange, his face, hands and feet peach skin, and his hair dark brown, then fill the flute and the stars with lemon yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading to the basket bricks and the snake's hood edges to make the shapes pop.
