Buck With Tall Antlers Standing in Grass

Buck With Tall Antlers Standing in Grass coloring page

Coloring guide

A buck stands in profile facing right, with its head turned slightly toward us and its mouth closed. Two tall antlers rise from its head, each with several pointed tines. It has large rounded ears, a small eye, and a dark nose at the tip of the snout. Short curved lines across the neck, shoulder, and back mark the muscles and fur. One front leg is lifted and bent mid-step, and the short tail is visible at the rear. Small tufts of grass run along the bottom edge of the page. The big open body shapes are easy for little hands to fill in. Try browns and tans on the body, then a lighter shade for the antlers so the branches stand out. Older kids can count the antler points and talk about how bucks grow new antlers every year. This free printable works well for a nature unit.
