Peek Inside an Easter Egg at a Bunny Meadow

Through a jagged cracked opening in a big Easter egg, you can see a smiling bunny sitting in a meadow full of flowers. Two butterflies flutter overhead, and tulips and daisy-like blooms crowd around the bunny, with rolling hills and distant bushes stretching behind. The egg's top and bottom bands are decorated with tulip shapes, dots and zigzag edges. Outside the egg, a leafy tree, a wooden fence, fluffy clouds and a bright sun with rays frame the scene, and more flowers and grass fill the bottom corners. With this much detail, it's best for kids who like to take their time with crayons or colored pencils. Soft pink and yellow for the tulips and purple mixed with orange on the butterfly wings would make them stand out. Print the free PDF for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the top band of the egg with sky blue and the small cap at the very top with khaki tan.
- 2Color the lower band of the egg lavender purple, then paint the rim around the opening with coral pink and soft pink.
- 3Paint the sky inside the egg pale blue, the distant hills light green, and the bushes and leaves grass green or emerald green, leaving the clouds and sun white.
- 4Color the bunny warm tan, with soft pink inner ears and a cream belly and tail, leaving the eye whites white. Add the tulips in golden yellow and tomato red.
- 5Fill the grass in grass green, olive green and light green, color the wooden fence olive green and the tree trunk chestnut brown, and leave the flower petals white.
- 6Optional: add a little extra warm tan shading along the bunny's belly edges and under the tulips for a bit of depth.
