Rescue Day: Dog Man Saves a Kitten From a Tree
Coloring guide
Up on a tall ladder leaning against a big leafy tree, a friendly dog in a flowing superhero cape cuddles a wide-eyed kitten in both arms. The dog has pointy ears, a dark nose, a few freckle dots on the snout and a small smile, and the kitten looks up with a sweet expression. Three little birds flutter on the left, and puffy clouds and leafy bushes fill the background. The tree trunk has bark lines, with scalloped leaves along the top and right edge. A bright red cape for the hero and soft orange or gray for the kitten will make the rescue pop. Big open shapes in the cape and clouds work for younger kids, while the leaves and bark give older ones more to do. Download the free PDF and print it at home for your growing collection. This fits right in with our Dog Man coloring pages — see also Naruto and Transformers.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the clouds and the three birds on the left by filling them with sky blue, leaving the empty sky white.
- 2Fill the tree leaves, the bushes at the bottom, and the leaves on the right with grass green, then add dark green to a few shaded leaves for depth.
- 3Color the tree trunk tree brown and the dog's head and muzzle pale cream, keeping the dog's eye whites white.
- 4Fill the dog's body, arm, and tail with orange, then add the bright red cape and the golden yellow collar.
- 5Color the kitten in medium gray with light gray on its tail, and leave its paws white where shown.
- 6Finish the ladder in honey gold, keeping the spaces between the rungs white. Optional: add a slightly darker shade of brown on one side of the tree trunk for depth.
