Coloring guide
A Spartan helmet in side view takes up the whole page. "Carter Helmet" is written in the bottom left corner, and "Halo Reach" runs vertically along the right edge. On top is a swept-back crest, with a pointed brow and a large open visor area below it. Near the front, a round fitting holds a long, ribbed attachment that sticks out. The chunky cheek and jaw plates are cut into many angled panels, with a small ridged vent and a hollow, window-like shape at the bottom. Kids who like detail will have plenty of sections to fill in. Silver-gray works for the main shell, with darker steel blue on the cheek plates and bright gold in the visor opening to make it pop. Print the free PDF at home and add it to your growing collection. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the large main body of the helmet, including the top dome and the cheek and jaw areas, with olive green.
- 2Color the bottom jaw parts and lower side panels with dark olive green to add depth to the lower half.
- 3Use dark gray for the side vents, the back strips and the crest ridges, leaving small gaps between shapes for the highlights.
- 4Color the big visor area in the middle-right of the helmet with golden yellow, and fill the dark shadowed visor strips with charcoal black.
- 5Add light gray and medium gray to the small round ports and ring pieces, and keep the thin edge highlights and the vertical lettering white.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of darker gray along the shadow sides of the panels to make the helmet look more three dimensional.
