The Cat in the Hat walks across the page with his arms flung wide and his eyes closed, looking very pleased with himself. He wears his tall striped hat and a big bow tie at his neck, plus cuffed white gloves on both hands. His long tail curls up behind him, and a few thin whiskers stick out from his face. Down at his lower left, a small hairy creature with a mop of messy hair is drawn upside down, one arm stretched out. The big open shapes in the hat, bow and gloves are easy for small hands to fill in. Try red and white stripes on the hat, then pick a bright color for the bow tie. Ask your child to color the little creature in a different shade so it stands out from the Cat. This free printable also works well for a Dr. Seuss reading day.
