Cheerful Boy in Top Hat on Stage, Presidents' Day Page
Coloring guide
A grinning boy stands front and center wearing a tall top hat, a bow tie, a buttoned vest and a long coat with wide cuffs. One hand holds up a small striped flag on a pole while his other arm hangs relaxed at his side. Big curtains frame both edges of the page, and five outlined stars float around him. Clean, bold lines and large open areas are easy for younger kids, while the coat, vest and hat leave room for older kids to add detail. A deep blue coat with a bright red bow tie and hat band, plus yellow stars, would match nicely. Print a few extra copies, since it's free and easy to reuse. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the long coat, top hat, pants, and boots in charcoal gray, leaving the white cuffs and shirt front unpainted.
- 2Fill the face and hands with warm peach, and the ears and neck too, keeping the eye whites and teeth white.
- 3Color the hair in chestnut brown, then add the red curtains, the red hat band, and the cherry red bow tie.
- 4Paint the vest in royal blue and the flag stripes in red, royal blue, and light gray, leaving the middle flag stripe white.
- 5Color the five-pointed stars and the curtain tiebacks in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra charcoal gray along the coat folds and under the hat brim to give the drawing some depth.
