In the middle of the page floats a little submarine with a big smile and wide sparkly eyes, and even its periscope has an eye peeking out of the top. The round porthole has a shine mark on the glass, and rows of tiny rivets run along the metal bands of the hull. A propeller and small fins sit at the back, while bubbles in different sizes drift up toward the wavy lines of the water's surface. On the seafloor, tall wavy seaweed and two branching coral plants share space with a few smooth rocks. Large shapes and bold lines make this free printable a nice choice for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big round front hull, the middle body, the back hull and the periscope tube with golden yellow, leaving the eyes and smile white.
- 2Color the tail fins, the lower fin and the red rivet bands along the sides of the hull in cherry red, plus the porthole ring and the red sides of the tower.
- 3Use light orange for the strip on top of the tower base and deep orange for the band on the periscope, then fill the propeller blades with royal blue.
- 4Color the porthole glass and the bubbles with pale blue, and the tower window with sky blue. Keep the eye whites and the highlights white.
- 5Paint the seaweed in leaf green, the corals in violet purple and the rocks in stone gray, then leave the sand and background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the bottom of the hull and the rocks to give the drawing more depth.
