Here's a winter page with a smiling, chubby Blastoise gliding over a frozen pond. Big sparkly eyes, rosy cheeks and an open happy mouth make it look like the best day ever. It wears ice skates and leans into a skating pose, one foot kicked back and flippers stretched out for balance. Both shoulder cannons point up and outward, and the shell has a neat segmented pattern that's fun to fill in. Look around and you'll see two big snowflakes in the sky, a snowy pine tree on the left, a small mountain on the right and a few rocks at the edge of the ice. Curved ripple lines mark the pond. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big round head and both flippers with lime green, leaving the eye whites and shiny highlights white.
- 2Fill the shell and the lower body with light gold, then use warm yellow for the stripes along the tail and scarf.
- 3Color the scarf and cannon tubes with bright blue and dark blue, using warm yellow bands between them.
- 4Add the brown tail and the brown shell back, then use orange for the stripe on the tail.
- 5Color the pine trees with forest green and moss green, and the snowflakes and skate boots with light blue and bright blue.
- 6Finish with pink cheeks and tongue, gray rocks, and the pond edge in pale blue; leave the skate blades and snowy hill white. Optional: add a slightly darker shade of each color along one side for depth.
