Child Sweeping Fall Leaves With a Big Broom

Coloring guide
A child in a round brimmed hat, buttoned jacket, long pants and boots grips a long-handled broom with both hands. The picture is turned on its side, so you may want to rotate the page before coloring. The broom has a tied bundle of bristles, and a few leaves are caught in its sweep. A tall heap of heart-shaped leaves sits behind the child, with more leaves drifting down near the boots and the broom. The leaves have clear center veins and smooth outlines, which makes them easy for small hands to color. Try mixing reds, oranges, yellows and browns across the pile so each leaf looks different, then pick one solid color for the jacket and another for the hat. Teachers could use the page for a talk about why leaves fall and what jobs people do outside in autumn. It is free to print and works well with crayons or colored pencils.
