Christmas Carolers With Lanterns in the Snow
Coloring guide
Three kids stand in a row, mouths open mid-song, and each one holds a lantern with a lit candle inside. The boy on the left has a ribbed beanie with a pom-pom and a long scarf. The middle girl has straight hair, a pom-pom hat and a scarf, while the girl on the right has a braid, a patterned hat and a coat with a pocket. They all wear mittens, winter coats and chunky boots. Behind them you'll see a snow-covered house with a chimney and a four-pane window, a little snowy pine tree and a short fence. Round snowflakes fall over the whole scene. There's lots of cozy detail here for crayons or markers, and it's free to print. Warm yellow and orange flames will glow against cool blue and purple coats and scarves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: color the house walls with skin peach and the house gable with light orange, then fill the tree and fence with forest green and caramel tan, leaving the snow white.
- 2Color the coats and hats next: the middle girl's coat and mittens in red and pink, the right girl's coat in violet, and the boy's jacket in sky blue with his hat in navy blue, bright blue and red pom-pom.
- 3Fill the pants with navy blue, the boy's boots and scarf in chocolate brown and bright blue, and the girls' boots in pink and violet, leaving the snow and window sill white.
- 4Add the faces, hands and boot cuffs in skin peach, and color the lanterns with charcoal gray frames and light yellow glass and flames.
- 5Optional: add a few soft shading strokes on the snow with pale blue, and leave small white highlights on the lanterns and eyes to make them sparkle.
