Three snow-covered cottages sit in a quiet winter village, and curly ribbons of smoke rise from their stone chimneys. The biggest house is in the middle. It has a round-topped wooden door, a round attic window, two square windows and a bow-topped wreath out front, with a winding path leading to the door. A smaller cottage stands on each side, and a large fluffy evergreen fills the lower right. Round bushes, a wooden fence, rolling hills and faraway pine trees make up the background. Big and small snowflakes and tiny dots of snow fill the sky above. Soft blues and purples suit the sky and shadows, and warm yellow in the windows makes everything feel cozy. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cottage roofs and walls: fill the main house wall with cream beige and the right cottage wall with coral red, leaving the snow-covered roof edges white.
- 2Color the distant hills and the sky-facing parts of the sky with light blue, then use forest green and pine green for the small trees and the large evergreen tree on the right.
- 3Fill the path and the small chimney smoke with pale ice blue, and color the left cottage wall with golden yellow and its lower part with pale yellow.
- 4Color the front door and the fence posts with warm brown, the wreath with cream beige, and the wide front windows and the attic window with bright yellow.
- 5Optional: Add a little bright blue to the blue trim by the door and sage gray to the bushes and chimney base for extra depth.
- 6Leave the snowflakes, the snowy ground, and the snow on the roofs white for a crisp winter look.
