Crowing Rooster Standing on a Wooden Post

Crowing Rooster Standing on a Wooden Post coloring page

Coloring guide

A rooster stands on top of a short wooden post with its head tilted back and its beak wide open, as if mid-crow. It has a ruffled comb on its head, a wattle under the beak, and a small round eye. The chest feathers have jagged, pointed edges, and the folded wing is made of several layered feather shapes. Behind the body, a big tail fans out in long curved plumes that sweep up and over. Its two legs end in long toes that grip the top of the post, and the post has simple vertical grain lines. The large open areas in the tail are great for practicing color blending. Try red for the comb, then orange, brown, and gold in the tail so every plume looks a little different. You can print this free page for a farm unit or a morning-themed activity.
