Smiling Bats Circling a Haunted House Tower

Coloring guide
Three cheerful little bats flutter around a tall, round stone tower. The tower has a pointed cone roof with scalloped bands and a small ball on top, three arched windows with panes and sills, scattered stone bricks and a curved wooden door with a round knob. Leafy bushes and a few grass tufts sit at the bottom, and a big crescent moon glows in the upper right corner. Each bat has pointy ears, a happy open mouth and wide wings with lots of space for color. The bold lines and simple shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Purple or dark blue bats look good, and warm yellow windows plus a bright yellow moon keep the tower feeling cozy instead of spooky. Download the free PDF for a peaceful bit of creative time. - 1Start by coloring the tall tower wall in cream, leaving the small window shine spots white.
- 2Color the pointed roof with soft purple on the top section and deep purple on the scalloped bands and the lower edge.
- 3Fill the bats next: light gray for their heads and bodies, soft purple for the wings, and soft pink for the inner ears.
- 4Use light gray for the stones on the tower and leaf green for both bushes at the bottom.
- 5Color the window frames, arch trim and sills golden yellow, fill the window panes with sky blue, and paint the door brown with a golden yellow arch.
- 6Optional: add a little dark gray under the bat bellies and a bright yellow dot on the door knob for a finishing touch.
