Close-Up Flamingo Head and Curvy Neck Rising From Water

Coloring guide
A big-eyed flamingo peeks up from the water in this sweet close-up, its long S-shaped neck rising out of a few simple ripple rings at the bottom. It faces left and has a large curved beak with a small nostril, a two-part beak shape and a pointed tip. The round shiny eye with little lashes gives it a friendly face. Wispy feathers frame the head, neck and back, leaving room for crayons, markers or colored pencils. Bold, clean lines make it easy for younger kids to stay inside the edges. Bright pink and coral work for the feathers, with a black beak tip and soft blue ripples. Print this sheet at home for an easy afternoon activity. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- coral red
- golden yellow
- charcoal gray
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big neck, head and feathers by filling them with coral red, leaving the eye white untouched.
- 2Color the front and upper part of the beak with golden yellow, keeping the small oval nostril white.
- 3Fill the tip and the darker lower edge of the beak with charcoal gray.
- 4Keep the eye white and the shine in the pupil white, then color the round pupil with charcoal gray if you like.
- 5Leave the background and the water ripples white, so the flamingo stands out clearly.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra coral red shading along the darker feather edges for more depth.
