Leafy-Maned Lion Cub Hatchimals Sitting Pretty
Coloring guide
Front and center sits a round-faced lion cub with big shiny eyes, and its fluffy mane is made entirely of overlapping leaves. The leaves fan out around the head in layers. A tall tuft of smaller leaves rises on top, and larger veined leaves frame the cheeks and chin. The cub has two round ears, a small dark nose, a gentle smile, tiny eyelashes and sweetly curved eyebrows. Its front paws rest side by side, and the chest has a scale-like texture. There's no background, which lets young colorers focus on the cub. Autumn oranges, golds and warm greens would suit the mane, with a soft tan on the face. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the big face, body, legs and paws with golden yellow, keeping the eye shine spots white.
- 2Color the fluffy chest tuft on the belly with pale cream for a soft, light patch.
- 3Fill the mane leaves around the head with a mix of leaf green and olive green, alternating them so the colors are spread out.
- 4Add bright orange, tangerine and amber to the remaining mane leaves, mixing them in between the greens for a leafy look.
- 5Color the inner ear shapes with coral pink and leave the big eye whites and their shine spots white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade of orange along the bottom edges of the mane leaves to make them look fuller.
