Cute Koala Hugging a Tree Branch

A round-bellied koala sits on a forked tree branch and looks straight out of the page. It has big fluffy ears with jagged tufts of fur, a large oval nose, small oval eyes with little brows, and a gentle smile. One arm reaches across to grip a thin branch, and the paw is drawn with tiny rounded fingers. Short dashes across the body, cheeks and legs suggest soft fur, and the foot rests on the thick branch below. The wide open shapes are easy for younger kids to fill in, while the fur marks give older kids a chance to add detail. Try soft grays and browns for the fur, then leave the nose a darker shade and color the branch in warm woody tones. This free printable also works well for a quick lesson on where koalas live and what they climb.
