Owl on a Branch Holding a Blank Calendar

Coloring guide
Perched on a tree branch, this big-eyed owl has tufted ears, a happy open beak and a spiral-bound calendar held in both wings. The grid is empty, five columns by four rows of blank squares, so kids can add their own numbers, dates or tiny drawings. Up in the top right corner floats a crescent moon, and leafy twigs frame the left side and the lower right. There's lots to color on the feathery chest, the round eyes with long lashes and the small clawed feet. Warm browns and tans suit the feathers, with a bright orange beak and a soft yellow moon. Use this free printable in a classroom planning corner, as a monthly chart at home, or just for a quiet coloring afternoon. Love this Calendar coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the owl's head, face, wings, and body in warm brown, leaving the big round eyes white.
- 2Fill the owl's face area with light beige, and color the beak and the feet talons golden yellow.
- 3Color the calendar's border frame in sky blue, and keep the grid squares white so they can be filled in later.
- 4Color the branch leaves and small twigs in leaf green, with the tiny leaves at the corners matching the same green.
- 5Optional: Add a few darker strokes in the brown feathers and along the wings to give the owl some texture.
