Frog on a Lily Pad Next to a Calendar
Coloring guide
Grinning on a round lily pad, a big-eyed frog has its front toes spread wide and its back legs tucked in at its sides. Behind it, a spiral-bound calendar with an empty grid leans on tall cattails and reeds. A friendly dragonfly with big wings and curly antennae flutters overhead along a dotted flight path. Simple ripple lines make the pond water, and two smaller lily pads float in the bottom corners. Thick outlines and roomy shapes keep this free printable easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Bright green with yellow spots on the legs suits the frog, with brown cattails and a purple or blue dragonfly. The blank grid is a handy place to write the month or add little numbers during class. - 2Fill the large lily pad and the two smaller lily pads with leaf green, and add forest green under the frog where it sits.
- 3Color the cattails brown, and the tall reeds and grass blades with leaf green and light green.
- 4Paint the dragonfly's wings and the calendar grid squares pale blue, and the dragonfly's tail bright blue.
- 5Color the calendar paper cream, the frog's open mouth dark red, and its tongue coral pink; fill the dragonfly's head and face golden yellow.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of leaf green on the frog's leg spots and the lily pads to give them a little depth.
