Baby Penguin in a Scarf Ice Skating on a Floe

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• charcoal gray
• pale ice blue
• sky blue
• bright red
• bright blue
• light gray
• golden yellow

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Fill the ice floe at the bottom with pale ice blue, and color its edges and corners sky blue.
2. 2Color the penguin's head, back, body sides and flippers charcoal gray, leaving the white face and belly untouched.
3. 3Color the scarf around the neck and its hanging end bright red, and the beak golden yellow.
4. 4Color both skate boots bright blue and the blades light gray, keeping the white cuffs at the top of the boots.
5. 5Color the snowflakes sky blue, leaving their small inner pieces and the eye shines white.
6. 6Optional: add a few light strokes of charcoal gray or sky blue along the edges for a sketchy, pencil-like look.
