Dachshund Puppy in a Hot Dog Bun Costume
Coloring guide
A happy puppy with floppy ears and its tongue hanging out sits upright on the grass in a hot dog bun costume. A wavy line of mustard runs across the top, and a rounded collar circles the neck. The puppy's curved tail sticks out behind, both front paws are planted in front, and a few tufts of grass dot the ground. The big bun and the squiggly mustard are easy to color, and the thick outlines are good for younger kids. Golden tan suits the bun, bright yellow the mustard, and warm brown the ears and face. Save it as a free PDF for a classroom project or a weekend craft. Fans of Hot Dog coloring pages often like For Girls and House as well.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big body areas: color the sausage, the back haunch, the tail and the front legs in golden brown, leaving the tiny highlight spots white.
- 2Fill the dog's chest, neck, belly and paws with light tan, keeping the gap between the legs and the small highlight spots white.
- 3Color both ears and the top and side parts of the bun in dark brown, leaving the little highlight near the base of the ear white.
- 4Add the mustard stripe in golden yellow, then color the collar in tomato red.
- 5Fill the tongue with soft pink and leave the shine on the black nose white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the corners of the ears and bun with a deeper brown to make the drawing look more rounded.
