Piggyback Ride in the Park, Father's Day Fun
Coloring guide
A laughing little boy hangs onto his dad's shoulders while his sneakers swing at the man's sides. Dad, in jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers, strolls along a winding garden path with a smiling dog trotting beside them. The dog has its tongue out, a round tag on its collar, and looks up at the pair. Leafy trees, rounded bushes, a wooden park bench and clusters of daisy-like flowers line the way. Pinks and yellows would be pretty on the flowers, and a golden-brown coat with a bold red collar tag suits the dog. The big shapes and clear outlines are good for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the bench and trees leave older children room for extra detail. It's a free printable that works for Father's Day cards or classroom projects. If you enjoyed this Father's Day page, don't miss our New Year and Halloween coloring pages.

- 2Color the leafy trees, bushes and grass with grass green and leaf green, and fill the tree trunks and bench with warm brown.
- 3Add skin tones with light peach on the faces, necks and arms, then color the boy's hair burnt orange and the man's hair chestnut brown.
- 4Fill the boy's shirt with bright red, the dog's body and ears with light gold, and the dog's collar tag with golden yellow.
- 5Keep the white background path, the shoe toes and the boy's socks white, and leave the shine areas unpainted.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of bright blue on the shirt folds and leaf green on the shadowed bushes for depth.
