Storytime in the Armchair, Father's Day Coloring Sheet
Coloring guide
Dad sits in a big armchair in a cozy sweater and slippers, with his young son on his lap and an open picture book in front of them. The boy is in star-patterned pajamas and smiles at the pages, which show a little bunny and trees on one side and a bright sun with a tree on the other. Nearby are a floor lamp, a bookshelf filled with books and a potted plant, a round rug under the chair, and a teddy bear with a bow on the floor. It's a sweet bedtime scene, and a lovely free printable for Father's Day. Soft blues and yellows will make the pajama stars stand out, and a warm brown suits the teddy bear. Younger kids can handle the large shapes, and the books and patterns offer older kids extra detail. Love this Father's Day coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the armchair and the round rug in soft green and golden orange, leaving the wall and floor background white.
- 2Fill Dad's sweater and Dad's jeans in sky blue and navy blue, then color the boy's pajamas with sky blue and bright blue, adding small star patterns left white if you like.
- 3Color the faces, hands and necks in skin peach, and the lamp shade in pale yellow. Use chocolate brown for Dad's hair and the lamp pole, and tan brown for the boy's hair and the teddy bear.
- 4Paint the open book in pale blue, add the bunny, sun and trees, keeping the bunny white, then color the grass in lime green and the sun in golden yellow.
- 5Add the books and plant: use a mix of the shelf colors like forest green, red, golden yellow and burnt orange, leave the plant pot and leaves white or lightly tint them with forest green.
- 6Optional: finish with dark slippers in chocolate brown and charcoal gray soles, and leave the boy's sock white for a crisp finishing touch.
