Director Fred in a Folding Chair With a Megaphone, The Flintstones
Coloring guide
Fred Flintstone lounges in a folding director's chair with one arm on a big cone-shaped megaphone, the other hand stretched out as if he's calling the shots. He has his usual caveman look: a ragged, spiky-edged tunic, a flat cap and a wide, cheerful grin. The megaphone has a handle on its side and stitched seams, and the chair has chunky log-like legs and crossbars. One bare foot kicks up in front of him. With no background, the white space is easy for little hands to fill. Younger kids can tackle the large shapes, while older ones may like the small details such as the stitches and the lacing at his collar. A tunic in orange with black spots, a warm brown cap and a bright red megaphone could work well. Save it as a free PDF and keep a few extra copies handy. - peach
- bright orange
- golden yellow
- chocolate brown
- light gray
- black
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin: fill the face, nose, ears, both arms, hand, legs and bare feet with a soft peach color, leaving the mouth opening for later.
- 2Color the vest and the seat area bright orange, keeping the shading simple and even.
- 3Fill the hat with chocolate brown, then add the brim in the same brown so it matches the example.
- 4Color the megaphone cone and mouthpiece golden yellow, leaving the rim and small highlights white.
- 5Use light gray for the chair legs and the lower chair parts, and fill the chair frame black.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker peach on the cheeks and under the arms for a bit of depth.
