Leaping Boots and Dora the Explorer Jumping for Joy
Coloring guide
Dora and her monkey pal Boots are frozen mid-leap, and the picture runs sideways on the sheet as if they are jumping for joy. Dora has her bob haircut with straight bangs and a big open-mouth smile. One arm reaches high, the other reaches down, and a beaded bracelet sits on her wrist. She's in a short-sleeved shirt, shorts and chunky sneakers. Below her, Boots grins with his arms spread wide, his long tail curling underneath and one big shoe kicked up. No background here, so the white space is easy for little hands to fill. Bright orange for Dora's shirt and brown for Boots' fur would look great. It's a free printable PDF, handy for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color Dora's face and raised arm in light orange, and her pants and leg in burnt orange, leaving the eye whites and shoe white.
- 2Fill Dora's shirt and neck in hot pink and her collar in light pink, then add the violet backpack straps.
- 3Color Dora's hair in dark brown, including the top, back, fringe and side strands, and leave the highlights white.
- 4Use sky blue for Boots' arm, back and lower leg, golden yellow for his belly and bright red for his feet and leg.
- 5Add golden yellow to Dora's sock, and leave the sneakers, Boots' hands and tail white as in the example.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on Dora's hair and orange pants for a bit more depth.
