Mermaid Princess Dora the Explorer and Boots
Coloring guide
Leaning on one hand with her other arm stretched out, Dora wears a mermaid tail with big flowing fins, a ruffled princess dress, a bracelet and a jeweled crown. Boots the monkey sits behind her, grinning in his big boots with one arm up in a wave. The tail curls around the page, and its scales and fin lines give kids lots of detail to work on. With no background, the two characters stand out and the page prints easily on a plain sheet. It's a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids who like Dora. Turquoise and purple on the tail and fins, plus gold on the crown so it sparkles, would look great. Print this free page for a classroom project or a weekend craft. - 1Start with the big tail fins: color the upper and lower fins and the tail body in light turquoise and deep teal, leaving the thin highlight lines white.
- 2Fill Dora's face, arms, and hands with soft orange, and color her hair and the side of her hair in chocolate brown.
- 3Color Dora's dress top in hot pink and the skirt and sleeves in lilac purple, using lavender gray for the lower skirt edge.
- 4Paint the monkey: blush pink for the face, cheeks, ears and hands, lavender gray for the arms and tuft, and bright red for the boots.
- 5Add the golden yellow crown and the monkey's tail and shirt, keeping the eye whites and background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little warm brown to Dora's eyes and a touch of rose pink to the monkey's cheeks for extra depth.
